Changes in PixFiler 5.3.2 (01-May-2012)
- Bugfixes
- some parts of the program did not work correctly if one of the photo folders had an apostrophe in the name.
- the amount of sharpening added to the full view photos have been reduced so it only compensate for resizing the photo.
- some users running Windows Vista were unable to store settings and license code.
Changes in PixFiler 5.3.1 (02-Apr-2012)
- Bugfixes
- fixed a problem that could crash the program if running on Parallels on a Mac
- repositioned the "Close" button in the Information Window. This could get outside the screen making it difficult to close the window
- a non-image file could be set as default image in the Image Files Form. PixFiler would then say this file is corrupt
- sending the Event Log file to our server could crash the program on Windows 7

- Improvments
- speed improvements in many parts of the program, especilly if your photos are stored on a file server. Adding new photos will be faster than before if using JPEG files.
- Bugfixes
- the "Add New Photos" form would sometimes show photos that were already in the database if they are stored on a file server.
- multiple "adjustments" to make the program work better in a network.
- the button that closes the Information window would sometimes be placed outside the Window. This made it impossible to close the window.
Changes in PixFiler 5.2.12 (02-Apr-2010)
- Improvments
- during reconfigurations of a computer, Windows may change the status of a disk from fixed to removable. This could cause PixFiler to not find photos stored on this disk. A workaround for this has now been added.
- PixFiler now supports the WDP and HDP on Windows Vista® and Windows 7®.
- performance improvements when accessing database on a network.
- you can now choose whether you want information displayed in header and footer in full screen view and slide shows. You set this in preferences.
- Bugfixes
- PixFiler sometimes had problems decoding the month name if the computer was set up to expect a month day year format. The navigator window would only show photos with date higher than 12, the others had an unknown date.
- top and left margin adjustments did not work properly for the report "Photos w/annotations".
- rotation of attached photos were often wrong. It should now work much better, but can still be wrong if the attached photos is very different fro the original. We are working on this issue.
- fixed a problem that could crash the program if you tried to edit comments for a photo after the trail period had expired.

- missing or corrupted files were not displayed correctly. In stead of showing the error image, PixFiler displayed a blank screen or the thumbnail of another image.
- fixed a problem that caused strange bahaviour if you added new photos, then deleted one of the photo files before PixFiler had created a thumbnail.
- it was not possible to delete categories that had no photos in them.
- fixed a problem that could cause the program to crash when adding new photos. This could happen if there were a corrupted image file among the first 50 files added.
- several minor fixes to make the program more stable.

- PixFiler will now ask you to insert the CD if the background process needs to collect information about one or more of the photos om that CD.
- Bugfixes
- fixed a problem that could make changes in annotations or categories to revert back to the original value.
- the background process had problems handling CDs with ' in the volume name.
- in some instances, the volume name of a CD was not stored in the volume description table. This made it impossible to add/modify a description for this CD.
- the program would crash if you tried to export to a CSV file without entering a file name.
- categories with no photos were not shown in the Navigator.

- fixed a problem that sometimes caused places not to be updated in the Navigator
- the background processing could be blocked if PixFiler had problems creating a thumbnail

- a resource leak have been fixed. This could cause PixFiler to hang/crash after some time use.
- PixFiler will now keep track of which computer is running the background processing in multi user installation thus avoiding all connected computers doing this. This could cause all access to the database to become very slow.

- fixed a problem that could cause PixFiler to not open the thumbnail database. This would cause the thumbnail display to be slow until the program was restarted.

- ' in filename of the image file would cause the file to not be added to the database
- when you tried to add photos from a CD/DVD, PixFiler would not prompt for a description for the CD/DVD. It would neither ask you to insert the CD/DVD later when clicking on a thumbnail.

- a bug that could cause annotations to be saved to the wrong picture has been fixed. It's very unlikely that this could happen.
- it's now possible to stop/start the background process manually. You can also disable background processing completely.
- a bug causing PixFiler to hang on startup when no database was selected has been fixed.
- Sometimes a black area can be seen on the lower part of thumbnails. This is only temporarily and the background process will automatically fix this.
- the database software has been upgraded. This upgrade fixes several bugs and will improve performance for some operations.
- lots of extra error checking has been added to the PixFiler database interface routines so the chance of database problems has been reduced.
- ratings in Navigator sometimes produced an error.

- the background processing system will now prioritize the last entered batch of photos when processing new photos
- program is now installed for all users on the computer. Only the user that installs the software need to enter license code. The code will be valid for all users on this computer.
- Bugfixes
- the 'Add Photos' did not always process the right photos if several batches were entered just after another. This could cause the photos to display slowly.
- you were sometimes asked to send the event log even if there were no new events. This could happen when multiple users were connected to the same database.
- several minor bugs have been fixed.
